Regional Plan for Sustainable Development
The Regional Plan for Sustainable Development (RPSD) represents the first joint and sustained effort by the governments and significant non-governmental organizations in the region to collectively address regional planning issues. Following three years of work, the Opportunity Collaborative Consortium has produced an RPSD that will advance sustainable development in the Baltimore region by using the Livability Principles to cohesively link our region’s housing, transportation and workforce investments.
By formalizing regional housing and workforce development strategies in a way that connects them to each other and to our Long Range Transportation Plan, our local governments and non-profit partners will be able to form new, outcome oriented partnerships that maximize our ability to leverage regional resources.
The process of developing this plan has included extensive community engagement and education, citizen leadership development, real world demonstration projects, and the establishment of regional housing and workforce development plans.
